2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross contributed to Mitsubishi June Sales
The 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross contributed to stellar Mitsubishi June Sales.

Mitsubishi has been gaining ground over the past few years, and 2018 is turning out to be no different. Mitsubishi June sales skyrocketed 46 percent over the same time period last year. The Japanese automaker continues to gain ground thanks to vehicle affordability, style, and value.

The Mitsubishi Outlander led the charge with the largest sales gain, jumping from 2,313 in June 2017 to 3,380 units last month. Its affordability and impressive array of premium amenities have made it a top choice for drivers of all ages.

The 2018 Eclipse Cross arrives new for the model year, and the all-new crossover saw more than 800 units leave dealer lots in June alone. Upscale styling and a spacious interior make it a favorite of families.

More than 350 units of the fuel-efficient Outlander PHEV have left dealership lots so far this year, which is great considering it’s all-new this year. Its combination of high fuel economy and comfortable cabin make it a great choice for families who love spending time on the road.

So far, Mitsubishi June sales are keeping with the annual trend. Mitsubishi’s year-to-date sales at the midpoint of 2017 sat at just over 54,500 units. The end of June 2018 sets the Japanese automaker well ahead of where it was last year. Mitsubishi has sold more than 67,000 vehicles so far this year.

New Mitsubishi SUV Named Eclipse Cross

In just a few days, at the 87th Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland, Mitsubishi is going to show off the latest addition to its lineup, a new Mitsubishi SUV, which will be called the Eclipse Cross.

The Eclipse name is borrowed from the popular, sporty coupe model that Mitsubishi sold from 1989 through 2011; the Cross part of the name is short for crossover. With this name, Mitsubishi aims to merge the two segments together into a dynamic form that drivers of all types can truly appreciate.

In the image Mitsubishi released when it announced the name, the Eclipse Cross is shown in a vivid high-saturation red, which Mitsubishi says is meant to evoke the brilliant color seen during a total solar eclipse.

Mitsubishi will officially unveil the new Eclipse Cross on March 7th at 11:15am, which is 3:15am here in Tucson. So, when we wake up that day, we’ll get the full details for this all-new Mitsubishi model. Size-wise, it will fit in between the Outlander and Outlander Sport. We also know that it will be powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Here at Quebedeaux Mitsubishi we are very excited to learn more about the new 2018 Eclipse Cross!
